I have heard follks say, they can get more Super Comp rounds in their
magazines.
Do you find that is true?
I just had Starline send me some
samples of 38 Super Comp and 38 Super TG(Todd Jarrett).
I loaded them with no
primers or powder but seated the bullet my normal 38 super OAL
and I
could not load any more with them than my normal Aguila brass.
My
170mm STI magazines all allow me 28 with the Dawson tool less basepad.
I have not cut the springs to get additional rounds yet.
Other Shooter Comments: | Not that I am aware of , there is a mag that has a shorter taper going from
the double stack to the single at the top of the mag and these are said to hold
2 more rounds , some may be cheating and adding a Dawson plus 2 base pad , which
would make the big stick too long for legal competition, but ok on the shorter
mags. |

Maximum capacity really depends on several factors combined:
-internal tube dimensions
-follower
-Base pad
-spring
-rimless case The rimless case stack and feed better than the rimed cases, so over all it
is an advantage, not a magic solve it all. A good mag should do 29, a great mag
is 30. |
Other Shooter Comments: | I can get one extra round in mags using Star line super comp brass, I seat my 124jhp rounds to 1.250 which means 28 rounds in my 170mm mags plus one in the tube for a total of 29. |
